An AMT tradition is evolving to bring you even more networking and knowledge - this year, the Annual Meeting is being held in conjunction with the National Tooling & Machining Association's (NTMA) Fall Conference.

This meeting will focus on helping you improve competitiveness during uncertain economic times. Speakers include:

Hotel Reservations
A block of rooms has been reserved at the group rate of $260 single/double occupancy. Room rates are exclusive of applicable state and local taxes (currently 13%) and a Resort fee of $15 per night. The Resort fee covers the following: fitness club access, local telephone charges, 800 or 888 and instate credit card calls, incoming/outgoing faxes, in-room safe, tennis court time, bicycle rental, golf bag storage, and self parking. Reservations may be made through the Hotel's Reservation Department by calling (512) 308-4700 or (800) 233-1234.

Hotel Reservation Deadline: September 12, 2008 (or when room block has been filled, whichever comes first). Reservation requests received after the cut-off date will be based on availability.

Transportation
Rental cars, taxis and Super Shuttle are readily available at the airport. Cab fare from Austin-Bergstrom Airport to the Hyatt is approximately $40. Once at the Hyatt, however, transportation by cab or limo must be arranged in advance. Self-parking at the Hyatt is complimentary. Valet parking is $15 per night with in and out privileges.

  • Highlights of Austin
    Sunday, October 5, 2008,  10:00 am - 4:00 pm


    Board the bus and take in the sights — charming Congress Avenue and Sixth Street with their historical buildings and old Austin legends. Tour the dynamic State Capitol (1 hour tour) and view the historic Governor’s Mansion. Journey the streets along Waller Creek explored by our founding fathers and see Waterloo Park, Custer’s Headquarters, and Symphony Square. View the campus of the University of Texas and the tour the LBJ Presidential Library (1 hour tour). Drive by the elegant historic homes in the Woodlawn area and take in the panoramic Austin skyline and Texas Hill Country from the top of Mt. Bonnell (some walking required).   • First Taste of Texas - Welcoming Reception

    NTMA & AMT members are invited to get together for a casual reception to kickoff our joint meeting. The Hotel’s outdoor Pecan Court will give us plenty of room to mix and mingle over cocktails and a delicious array of hearty hors d’oeuvres. “Fathers of Texas” will provide just the right background music for this evening. We hope everyone will get together this evening for a “First Taste of Texas.”

  • Spouse Program: Cowboy Breakfast & Texas History

    Deep in the Heart of Texas Join us for a modern day version of a hearty cowboy breakfast. Two famous characters will bring Texas history to life with their first-person accounts. • William Barret Travis, was a 19th century American lawyer and soldier. At the age of 26, he commanded the Republic of Texas forces and died at the Battle of the Alamo during the Texas Revolution from the Republic of Mexico. • Cynthia Ann Parker was kidnapped by Comanche Indians in 1836 when she was nine years old, and she became a member of the tribe. Cynthia Ann’s story is dramatic and full of happiness and sadness. She was the mother of Quannah Parker, the most powerful and famous Comanche chief of all.

  • NTMA-AMT Golf Tournament (Shamble Format)
