Every AMT member should consider doing business with the federal government, but it's sometimes difficult to know where to start. On Aug. 25, AMT presented a webinar titled Federal Government Funding 102: The ABC's of the GSA Schedules Program. Many important lessons were included in this session, but if you missed out (or if you'd like to listen again), a recording is available.

Here are some of the important points that were covered:

  1. Getting onto the GSA Schedule is the fastest and least expensive way to get visibility into the federal government market.
  2. Having a GSA schedule allows the federal government to more easily buy directly from the AMT Member.
  3. AMT Members with a GSA schedule will experience a reduced time from solicitation to contract award.

The presentation featured Patrick Morrison, Director of Client Services for WMG, who has more than 30 years of successful sales and marketing experience in the government marketplace. Morrison specializes in working with WMG consultants to develop programs that benefit new and existing clients. He also identifies external organizations that would benefit from working with WMG to utilize the GSA schedules program to enhance their revenue in government markets.
